Privacy Policy
Draft, last updated 26 October 2026.
This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data LynxSpan stores, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
LynxSpan is operated by [PLACEHOLDER: registered legal name], [PLACEHOLDER: registered business address]. You can contact us about privacy at [PLACEHOLDER: contact email].
What we store
- Your account: your name, your email address, your business name, and your password, which is stored hashed (not in readable form).
- Social-account tokens: when you connect a social account, the network gives us access tokens so we can publish and read basic analytics on your behalf. We also store the account's name and profile picture.
- Your content: posts, media, schedules and comments you create in your workspace.
- Billing records: your plan, payment status and the customer and subscription references from our payment provider, Paystack. Your card details are held by Paystack, never by LynxSpan; we never see or store your full card number.
- Access requests: the name, email, business, phone and message you send us through our forms.
- Technical logs: our servers record IP addresses and requests for security and troubleshooting.
Your social-account tokens belong to you
Tokens for your connected accounts are yours. We only use them to do what you ask: publish your posts and fetch analytics for your accounts. You can disconnect an account in your workspace at any time, and we stop using its token. You can also revoke LynxSpan's access directly in the security or app settings of the social network, which makes the token useless immediately.
Where your workspace runs
On the Free, Starter and Growth plans, your workspace runs on shared LynxSpan infrastructure alongside other customers, kept apart by logical separation: each workspace is a separate account with its own data, settings and connected social accounts, and one customer cannot see another's. Larger plans can be arranged with dedicated resources. Either way, we only use your data to provide the service to you.
How we use your data
- To run your workspace and publish what you schedule.
- To bill you and manage your subscription.
- To reply to you and send service messages about your account.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else processes it
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers your workspace lives on.
- Paystack, for payments.
- The social networks you connect, when we publish or fetch analytics for you.
- An AI provider, only when you use AI features. The text you send to the AI assistant is passed to that provider to generate a reply.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your subscription is active. After it ends we keep your workspace for up to 30 days so you can return or ask for an export, then delete it. We keep billing records for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, export it or delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Email [PLACEHOLDER: contact email] and we will respond as required by applicable data protection law, including Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies. Your workspace uses a cookie to keep you signed in. See the Cookie Policy.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before it applies.
